JKI Karate & Kickboxing

Japanese Karate International (JKI) headed by Hanshi Dr Karel “Wollie” Wolmarans 10th Chief Instructor All Africa and Dan World Chief Instructor. 

Hanshi Dr Wollie is a 10th Dan in Shotokan Karate and 10th Dan Kickboxing and 3rd Dan Tenshikan Karate, 3rd Dan Funakoshi Karate, 3rd Dan and Budo-Ryu Karate. 

Hanshi Dr Wollie is also a x2 time Grandslam World Karate Champion Taiwan. 

He also won the World Karate Championships held in Japan for Tenshikan Karate. 

Hanshi Dr Wollie also trained under the World Chief Instructor for Tenshikan Karate Founder Kancho Mamoru Miwa. 

Coach Terence “Tee” Teraine has been training in Karate since 1980, he started off with Shotokan Karate under Sensei Chris Anthony, then moved to Budo-Ryu Karate under Sensei Dug Whitehorn and Sensei Dave Millar, back to Shotokan Karate under Sensei Sarel Marais 3rd Dan and Shihan Dr. Wollie. 

Coach Tee was promoted to 3rd Dan JKI Shotokan Karate and JKI Kickboxing by Hanshi Dr Karel “Wollie” Wolmarans 10th Dan World Chief Instructor. 

Cobus Robinson trained in Funakoshi Karate, Shotokan Karate, Goju-Ryu, and Goju-Kai, Seiwa-Kai both under Sensei Rudi Strydom 3rd Dan Chief Instructor. 

Cobus Robinson a Black Belt trained in a many styles of Karate and also in K1 Kickboxing for 15 years. 

Cobus Robinson was promoted to 1st Dan (Shodan) and Instructor (Sensei) by Hanshi Dr Karel “Wollie” Wolmarans and Coach Tee in 2024.

JKI combines blocking and striking from Karate and Kickboxing, combined with combination blocking and striking from Kenpo, pins and locks from from Aikido, takedowns and throws from Ju-jitsu, groundwork and grappling from BJJ and MMA. 

Fun Fact: Wollie also won the World Aikido Grandslam Championships in Taiwan. 

Fun Fact: Wollie is a Hanshi 10th Dan in Aikido.

Fun Fact: Terence won the All Styles Karate Championships first place gold medal for Kumite in 1989. 

Fun Fact: Terence won first place gold medal at the International Yoshinkan Aikido Championships in 2004. 

Fun Fact: Cobus won Katate competitions and K1 Kickboxing competitions.
